In a counter-trend, wait instead of adding.
On the way back, trail it out.
A GBPCHF-only EA redesigned from scratch. It recognizes counter-trends and stops averaging, and has a time-based exit so losing baskets are not carried for long.
* Amounts are estimates: the max DD % (equity-based) applied to the 10,000 USD starting balance (1 USD = 150 JPY).
I'm Captain Pon. This ship is as cool-headed as a crown of glacier ice. In a strong headwind it waits instead of adding, and then it works the way back.
Backtest results from the MT5 Strategy Tester (every tick, $10,000 starting balance, 1:100 leverage, fixed 0.01 starting lot, 2017.01.01–2026.10.12). They do not guarantee future results.
What stands out in the backtest.
In the March 2020 COVID shock, stop-outs capped each loss at about $900, and it kept banking take-profits afterward. Equity ended 2020 at $11,067 (from $10,000).
About four years with no stop-out triggered (through October 2026).
In the recent period the equity-based max drawdown stayed at 4.2%.
Max drawdown over the full run was 12.5% (at the COVID shock of 2020). Start from the minimum 0.01 lot.
Of the baskets that closed in profit, 96% did so within 2 steps and 99.5% within 4. The median was about 3.4 hours, and 77% closed within 24 hours.
The design principles behind GLACIER CROWN.
While the higher-timeframe trend is strong against you, averaging in that direction stops. It does not keep adding into a strong headwind.
A basket still under water after a set period is closed in full, before carrying costs pile up. No long-term carries.
Buys and sells are optimized separately. A move against one side doesn't stop the other.
Judged from the average price across all positions. Tuned separately for buys and sells.
Redesigned from scratch and tested every tick from 2017.
Stop-out is tied to the balance, and the number of steps is capped. It is designed not to chase losses.
The live status of the account the seller actually runs.
Here's how things look out at sea. The numbers arrive a few minutes late. When we're carrying a floating loss, we show that too.
| Side | Lots | Entry | Opened | P/L |
|---|
| Closed | Side | Lots | P/L |
|---|
Realized P/L per day () and number of closes. Floating P/L is not included.
Times are the broker's server time. These are results from this account and do not guarantee the same results in your account.
Planned averaging: spacing, lot size and limits are all decided in advance.
It only does two things. When price moves against it, it adds at a set distance (but waits in a strong counter-trend). When price comes back, it follows as far as the move goes.
The deeper the move against you, the wider the next spacing. It doesn't rush to add deep into a move.
A move against one side doesn't stop the other.
The decision is based on P/L from the average price. The first position and the deepest add close at the same time.
When the floating loss reaches a set share of the balance, everything is closed. The exit rule is fixed from the start.
Run straight through from January 2017 to October 2026 with a $10,000 starting balance.
What matters most in an averaging EA is that the exit rules are set from the start.
| Item | Details |

Both plans are free for the first 30 days. One subscription covers one account.
Start with 30 days on a demo account or the minimum lot. If it's not for you, it's fine to stop while it's still free.

Three steps from sign-up to running.
On the payment page, enter the MT4/MT5 account number that will run the EA.
On the Setup guide page, download the MT4 or MT5 version.
If you're logged in with the registered account, it authenticates automatically and starts running.
If the move against you continues, the floating loss grows. GLACIER CROWN limits that risk with a step cap, a balance-linked stop-out, averaging stops during counter-trends, a time-based exit and a spread filter.
It is tuned for GBPCHF only. Using it on other pairs would need separate testing.
Backtests were run on MT5. The MT4 version follows the same logic, but results vary with platform, broker and history data.
The test uses a 0.01 starting lot. A larger lot scales the stop-out loss just as it scales profit. Decide how much loss you can accept first.
It can. Real spreads, swaps, execution delays and slippage change the results. We recommend checking on a demo account or the minimum lot first.
Yes. Each EA is a separate subscription. On one account, give them different magic numbers. Floating losses can grow on several EAs at once, so leave plenty of margin.
After the 30-day free period, the plan you chose is charged automatically. Cancel during the free period and you won't be charged.
The subscription management page lets you cancel at any time. After you cancel, the EA stops opening new trades once the paid period ends.
Take a look at the other ships too. You can compare them on the top page.
